It’s been a long time since I posted filigrees…
Here is a monogram made for a commission to make a tattoo (I think it’s going to be painful).
The overall design is 15cm in diameter, acrylic paint on paper.

It’s been far too long since I’ve posted anything. Various contingencies have kept me away from my computer.
For my return, I am sharing a monogram that I made a few weeks ago but that I didn’t want to show until it had arrived in Australia, at its addressee’s home. It’s done and so here is Linda’s monogram, LCK, hand-made linen paper, gold leaf and, as far as colours are concerned, a mixture of Payne grey, Prussian blue and cobalt blue.
The circle of filigrees is about 8 centimetres in diameter.
Not being able to give my classes, I nevertheless continue to work.
And a charming lady from Canada was kind enough to order some small letters with filigrees.
Here are the first ones, there will be more!

Little exercise to pass the time: what romantic text am I working on?
The clue is of course the letter which starts the text (and the gilding is part of the solution).
As it’s a bit tenuous, another clue is prose, it’s in French and I’ve already calligraphed a text by this author.
Whoever gives me the author’s name will get something when the post office starts working normally again.
And another thing for the person who finds the passage in question.

This project will have been going on for almost three years, but it is finally over.
It is therefore about the beatitudes in the version of Saint Luke and according to the text of the vulgate.
The cadel B was made on metal and the embossing on a rag paper whose provenance I have totally forgotten.
I’m rather happy with the result, especially with my abbreviations, ligatures and Tironian notes in the NEULAND style, but even without mentioning these details, the overall view is rather nice, isn’t it?
