Here is a fragment from Thus spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche that I really like.
I wanted to give rise to the first word of the text, thus I drew it from a typography and made it half embossed, half engraved on metal.

The remaining part of the text is calligraphied with a fraktur, I felt it was the accurate script for it.
As usual, to see the whole work, have a look to the gallery.
The Flies – final version
I’ve just finished with my version of the text from The Flies by Jean-Paul Sartre.
You can see the whole work by clicking here.
As it is quite long, one cannot really see anything on this pic, that’s why I took close-ups :
The Flies
A long time ago, I did a draft using bits of the text The Flies by Jean-Paul Sartre.
I eventually find the energy to get back to it, here are a few pics of the work in progress.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness
Or, in the latin version (the one I used) : Exortum est in tenebris lumen rectis corde (Psalms CXII.4).
I used my engraving technique to create this candle holder which is in fact holded by the candle and not the opposite but let’s not be bothered by such details 🙂
The script is the NEULAND designed by Rudlof Koch and I’m quite happy with the result even if, as always with zinc and acid, the engraving is somewhere irregular.
