December 25

The Christmas holidays are approaching and you may not know what to offer your loved ones in these troubled times.

I propose you filigreed letters and monograms.

The materials (inks, paints, gilding, papers) are used according to your requests.

Prices range from 20 to 200€ (excluding shipping costs) depending on the size and complexity requested.

For any order, you can contact me by mail or by phone from the contact information displayed on this page.

some recent examples with a quartet of Payne grey lettering 2 cm high

and then a lighter blue for a D of the same size

walnut ink, always at 2 cm

And a large monogram (letters of 4cm and filigree of 10) with gilding.

The flower on the vermeille mouth…

I’ve finished the fragment of Théophile Gautier I was telling you about a little while ago.

Of course, it is about a flower, so I made a flower in filigree. And, as I wanted a little colour to echo the “vermeille” of the text, I added other filigrees, in red this time.

The kiss

Poem by Paul Althof, found in Ver Sacrum magazine.
It was therefore obvious to calligraphy it with the Art Nouveau lettering that I recovered from the same magazine.
The calligraphy was done with a palette nib, except for the separations between verses which were done with a drawing pen, all in acrylic ink.

And for those who would like to learn how to make this alphabet, I remind you that I am organizing a course in my workshop on April 4 & 5, 2020.

Pangram curtain

The winter sun is sometimes annoying when I work in my workshop, so my wife made me a curtain.
But I can’t leave a fabric of this surface untouched! I have to scribble on it!
And as I didn’t know which text to use, I fell back on pangrams in several languages.
The advantage is that it will give my trainees ideas when they take calligraphy classes in the workshop and don’t know what to write.
I’m only at the beginning, I started with a pangram in English and in NEULAND.

I continued with a German version in Gothic fraktur…

the next one will be a French version, soon…

Magic Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?

Tell me I’m the one, otherwise I’ll break you once more in tiny bits.

Inspired by kintsukuroi but not having the necessary amount of gold on hand, my wife repaired an old broken mirror with kraft that I then decorated with this little warning: -D
